Raymond “Chip” Moats is the firm’s second attorney who is licensed in both California and Ohio. Chip’s practice focuses on estate planning, real estate, advising small businesses, and bankruptcy. Chip is joining the firm to fill the needs of clients in Licking, Franklin, and Delaware Counties, and beyond. Chip is a graduate of The University of California, Irvine, with a degree in political science with a concentration in “Global Peace & Conflict Studies.” He attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. He began his career as a prosecutor for the City of San Diego, focusing on child abuse and domestic violence, and gaining extensive trial experience. In 1999, Chip relocated to Ohio. He worked on estate planning and municipal law matters with the City Attorney of Westerville at Metz & Bailey. In 2001, He joined Weltman, Weinberg & Reis, where he handled business litigation, and probate and estate matters. Chip is licensed in Ohio, California (inactive), and the United States District Courts in Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, and the Southern District of Ohio. Chip is on the Board of Directors of Freedom a la Cart, and he is a magistrate judge for the Morrow County Municipal Court.
